2016 - Year in Review
2016 has been a big year for Church Pickard!
After having passed the CPA Common Final Exam (CFE) in 2015, Sam received her CPA designation in February.
In March, we were honored to receive the Professional Services award at the Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards.
April 30th marked the end of Lorana’s last tax season! It will sure be different not having her around next year, while she is adventuring in Australia.
Following tax season, Joanne and her husband Colin welcomed their second child, son Isaac, in June.
Also in June, we participated in the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life. Because of the support of our clients, family, and friends we won first prize for the team with the most raised. Our thanks go out to all of you!
Later in the summer, Natasha found out that she had passed the CFE, which allowed her to receive her CPA designation in November.
In October, we celebrated our 75th year in business, with a party at the Pleasant Valley Social Centre. We also wished Lorana well with her retirement and welcomed the new partners: Lee-Anne, Anna, and Joanne. We so enjoyed seeing the clients that braved the wind and rain to celebrate with us.
Then, in December, a congratulations was also in order for Louise when she too found out that she passed the CFE.
Throughout the year, we welcomed a few new staff members: Mike Traynor, Eric Landry and Stefanie Droog, and said goodbye to Eric Janson. However, the most significant staffing change occurred on December 15th, when Lorana officially retired, after being with the firm for 28 years. We miss her already!
We look forward to seeing what 2017 has in store for us!
